What the Students say...

The following are comments from students who have had experience as leaders on the ropes course. Many of them began these experiences in the sixth grade and are now graduating from high school. Several will be attending NGCSU and plan to return to the Challenge Course to again help Mr. Greer facilitate activities.
"I've watched middle schoolers who were afraid of heights climb 55 ft. poles. I've seen a group pull a kid in a wheel chair up a 45 ft. high tower. I've experienced a group move from dysfunctional to confrontational to high functioning and growing. I've witnessed 1st hand a guy who was too shy to speak up grow into an effective voice for teens in the community. I am that guy."
"I helped facilitate a group that was going nowhere, but in the end, they were one of the best groups I've ever worked with."
"I remember that we were doing the cat walk and a girl was getting scared. We talked her through it and she made it all the way to the other side and to the center."
"Last year, all the 'Y' Club officers went to the Challenge Course to learn to work more effectively in groups. It was really beneficial because the group began to form closer bonds which enabled us to be better leaders. We learned how to work with each other and see different perspectives."
